Liverpool scrappers are planning to sell Nat Phillips this summer
That was one of the revelations from Reds manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday when he spoke to the media ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League opener with Fulham.
Phillips didn’t make a single Premier League appearance under Klopp last season, suggesting he was under a lot of pressure.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Liverpool had set a £10m bid for the powerful defender.
However, Ibrahima Konate is out indefinitely and Klopp has admitted the development means a potential deal to sell Phillips will now not materialise.
He said Mirror: “Maybe [the Konate injury] “I would say it will affect foreign remittances.”
You have to feel with Philips, with the tag “absolutely crazyFrom his manager in 2021.
He, who did not play a single minute in the Premier League last season, will seek to leave Liverpool.
As much as he loves the Reds, leaving Anfield is certainly a sensible move for his career and he simply won’t have regular football until he does.
Even without Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk are still miles ahead of him.
The January transfer window looks set to be a long five months for Phillips.
In other news, Somerville’s Criscencio is set for success in Leeds U21’s 5 Pearls in the 22/23 season.
