This additional flight is another convenient option for travelers to or from Japan and passengers traveling to and from the United States and Canada, the statement said.
The airline’s latest flight schedule has three round-trip flights per week, JAL said, working on the original plan of one daily flight.
To mark the progress of the direct flight from Bengaluru to Tokyo (Narita), JAL and Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) organized a lamp-lighting ceremony at the check-in counter and pre-departure gate ceremony for flight JL754 on Friday.
Karnataka Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani and Industries and Commerce Department Commissioner Gunjan Krishna attended the ceremony and flew to Japan.
Shinya Naruse, Vice President and Regional Manager (India), Japan Airlines, said, “We are delighted to make this progress in better serving the community in Bangalore by providing more convenient flights to Japan and thus more options to connect to North America.”
JAL operates the route with Boeing 787-8 aircraft equipped with 30 business class and 156 economy class award seats.
