Police have identified the man killed in a southeast Austin shooting

The incident happened on July 26 in the 4900 block of Nuckols Pass Road.

Austin, Texas – Austin Police Department The victim who died in a shooting in southeast Austin Tuesday night has been identified.

Anthony Blaylock, 30, has been identified as the person who died on the night of July 26.

According to APD, the incident happened at East Oaks Apartments in the 4900 block of Knuckles Crossing Road, north of Terry Road and east of South Pleasant Valley Road.

APD said a man and a woman were shot just before 8 p.m Blaylock on the ground and unresponsive. EMS arrived and performed CPR, but he died at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that the incident began as a disturbance between another person and the two victims, which led to the shooting.

No suspects are currently in custody, but police said Friday they have “identified a person of interest.” Anyone with information or video of this incident is asked to contact APD.

The case is Austin’s 43rd homicide of the year.
