earlier this week, Rockstar Games released the latest major update Grand Theft Auto Online, its wildly popular open-world MMO. The new update brought some much-needed changes and features to the almost decade-old game. It also added a new semi-automatic rifle to the Digital Streets of Los Santos that cost close to half a million dollars and is…just badass. It’s so bad that many are confused as to why it was even added.

Criminal Enterprises free update for GTA Online It was released on July 26 and brought many improvements and new features to the game, many of which had been requested by fans for years. This update includes things like the ability to do sales missions in a private meeting and the ability to finally run around casinos or inside nightclubs. It also added new song creation features and simplified eating snacks and using armor. All in all, not a super flashy or flashy update, but a smart one that helps make the aging game playable and fun.

This update also added a new weapon that is really badass.

Accurate rifle In theory, it’s supposed to be a semi-automatic sniper rifle that’s very accurate and can be used in mid- to long-range engagements. And with an extraordinary price of 450,000 dollars (No discount) many players may expect to increase the value of their money. I know when I picked up the gun I did it the moment I logged in after the update went live. What I and other players actually got for this high price was pretty terrible.

The first red flag came up before I even fired the gun. After buying it, I went to spend some extra cash to upgrade it and add some accessories, like a scope or a muffler. This is a very common part GTA Online And basically, all my other guns have the same options. But the precision rifle has none of these. All you can do is change the colors on it. There is No scope, extended mag, flashlight, or anything else. It made me nervous, but at the time I thought maybe it was good enough that it didn’t need those things. You read the headline and got this far, so I don’t have to tell you – but I will anyway – I was wrong. very wrong

In my first fight with some random cops who started attacking me for no reason (don’t look at all the dead bodies around me) I quickly realized that this gun has a very slow rate of fire. It also doesn’t seem any more accurate or precise than many of my other rifles and pistols. Against other players it doesn’t seem to do much damage either, three or four body shots to kill a troll trying to harass you. While that sounds cool, that’s about all of these expensive firearms.

inside GTA Online association, Player feedback is mostly negative. The vast majority of online players feel that the gun is a rip off and wasting money, comparing it to cheaper guns that have similar or even better stats. I saw a player Compare that to a Nerf blaster. Not a great review of what is supposed to be a deadly weapon.

In addition, the negative reaction is that players expected another weapon to be part of this new update. The gun is the M16 service rifle, which Rockstar teased in screenshots released before the release of Criminal Enterprises. But after the update, the gun was nowhere to be found. It seems, through dataminers, that the service rifle is on its way and will be a reward for completing the scavenger hunt.

Strangely, some players report that when they load the game after the update They already found the service rifle in their inventory. This version of the gun seems to have bugs and it’s probably all an inadvertent mistake. But at least it’s hard to complain about a crappy gun when it’s “free”.

Kotaku Contacted Rockstar about the Service Rifle and if there are any plans to update or modify the poor precision rifle. Until something changes, I suggest you save your money and buy something else. And hey, At least Rockstar nerfed the OP’s horrible jet bike!
