SpiceJet: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation reduces SpiceJet flights to 50% for eight weeks

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) on Wednesday working with 50 percent of approved flights for 8 weeks after multiple hurdles.

“In light of the findings of numerous spot checks, inspections and response to show the Notice of Reason provided by SpiceJet, the number of departures for SpiceJet is limited to 50% of the number of approved departures under the Summer Schedule 2022 for a period of 8 weeks from the date of this issuance,” the DGCA said.

The DGCA recently required SpiceJet to use certain specified (10) aircraft for operations only after assuring the regulator that all reported defects/malfunctions have been corrected.
