Jason Tatum reacts to Celtics’ reported Kevin Durant show Originally appeared NBC Sports Boston
The Celtics star was in New York City on Tuesday for the premiere of the Showtime documentary “Point Gods” and was asked to share his thoughts on the report.
“I don’t think about anything,” Tatum said in a video posted by Jared Schwartz of the New York Post. “I only play basketball.”
Does the idea of playing on the same team as Durant appeal to Tatum?
“I played with him during the Olympics,” he told reporters. “He’s a great player. But it’s not my decision. I love my team. I love the guys we got. I don’t know if this report is true or not.”
As for his reaction to seeing Brown as the main focus in Durant’s reported show, Tatum takes the rumors with caution.
“I can’t believe everything I see on TV,” Tatum said. “I saw some (expletive) on me that was a lie. You don’t really know what is true or what is not.”
According to athlete Shams Charania, the Celtics have Appeared as a ‘real threat’ To land on Durant in the trade. But unless they break up with Brown, Marcus Smart, draft picks and possibly another rotation player, Brooklyn is unlikely to budge. The Nets reportedly rejected the Celtics’ initial offer to Brown, Derek White and choose the draft.
Brad Stevens and C still have plenty of time to come up with a deal for the future Hall of Famer. If they drop out of the Durant lottery and enter the season with the current group, it doesn’t look like Tatum will be too disappointed.
