Logitech G705 Gaming Mouse Review: Compact and Comfortable

. Last update: July 25, 2022

The Logitech G705 gaming mouse is part of the company’s new Aurora line of peripherals designed for different audiences and different aesthetics, but is it any good?

The Logitech G705 may surface to be another gaming mouse that claims to offer something different, but as with other Logitech Aurora peripherals, it’s geared and designed for small hands, yet still manages to be incredibly comfortable in the hand. It has a great battery life.

magnet! How do they work?!

While certainly not as light as other mice on the market, the Logitech G705 Wireless Gaming Mouse is certainly compact. From the moment we took it out of the pack, the mouse surprised us with how small it was. Fortunately for us, we have very small hands, and that made the transition away from the usual Razer Naga Pro very easy.

The G705 feels very premium, even though it is made of several pieces of plastic, all bolted together. There are small seams across the body, all flowing together on the smooth, matte white surface. We fear that these little welds will pick up some dirt over time, and during our testing we discovered that they did manage to pick up quite a bit.

Through the edges and center of the mouse is a translucent plastic dotted panel, stunningly lit up in shades of pink and blue, which pulse through the G705.

With a small removable magnetic plate to store the USB receiver, the whole package looks cohesive, premium, and different from the rest of the mice on the market. Yes, its specs aren’t really something groundbreaking, but this mouse isn’t really about performance, the G705 is all about Feel.

From the matte white shell, to the clean-looking stock lighting and the same size as the mouse, the G705 is a mouse that cares more about how it feels in your hand, and how it looks on your desk than raw performance.

The long battery life means you’ll only charge it once a week at the most, we’ve found, and it easily fits into your setup without any fuss at all.

gaming performance

Although it may not look like one, the G705 is still a wireless gaming mouse. As mentioned, its specs aren’t amazing, and frankly on the lower end of the scale for this price point, although it didn’t really impact our gaming performance across a number of titles, including CS: GO And the Final Fantasy XIV.

The Lightspeed Wireless keeps everything nice and quick, with no noticeable input lag in the G705 itself, helping you keep your desk neat and tidy, while still managing your gaming on it. You won’t be able to win any tournaments with this mouse, but it oscillates between the lifestyle and gaming markets, instead.

If gaming performance is what you’re after, instead take a look at one Best gaming miceAll in all, it will be much better in gaming scenarios than the G705.

Outside of the rough performance, the weight of the mouse is certainly not the lighter on the market, and instead provides a stable middle ground that most users find comfortable.

The form factor allows you to hold the mouse in several different ways, but for this particular method, we found the claw grip worked best on most of the titles we tested. Size may be an issue for those with larger hands, in which case you may need to look for it alternative.

But, if you have smaller hands, you should definitely consider the G705. The sweeping curves on the mouse make it incredibly comfortable to use for long gaming sessions, and the long battery life ensures you don’t get disconnected in the middle of a match.

Should you buy it?

G705 gaming mouse with other Aurora line accessories

Other “Aurora” accessories from Logitech match up nicely.

The Logitech G705 gaming mouse has plenty of connectivity, decent gaming performance, and a stunning aesthetic that stands out from many other mice on the market.

Even though the $99 price point is a hard-to-swallow pill for the performance you get from a mouse, it’s still an incredibly cohesive package. If you have a Logitech G715, you can even use a single dongle to connect to both devices.

The Logitech G705 is by no means bad, and it delivers on the fronts that don’t just care about performance. All of this results in a gaming mouse that focuses mostly on the convenience of those around you and your life, rather than the aggressively high specs of other gaming mice. Did we mention that pastel colors are to die for?

Logitech G705 gaming mouse will be released in August 2022.
