Joni Mitchell talks about her comeback performance
Joni Mitchell sat down with CBS News’ Anthony Mason on Monday after her performance.
While speaking, she stated, ‘I’ve never felt nervous about being in front of an audience. But I wanted it to be good. And I wasn’t sure it could be. But I didn’t look so bad tonight! “
The singer-songwriter continued, “I’m learning. I look at the videos on the net to see where to put my fingers.”
She further said, “It’s amazing what an aneurysm knocks on—how you get up from a chair! You don’t know how to get out of bed. You have to learn all these things by heart again.
The star added, “I adored water ballet as a kid, and I forgot how to do breaststroke. Every time I tried it, I was drowning, you know?. So a lot of it almost goes back to childhood. You have to learn everything all over again.”
Meanwhile, Amy Caribbean, who was one of the lucky ones to attend Mitchell’s surprise party, shared videos of her performance on her YouTube channel. Moreover, the clips left many fans of the singer in tears.
One fan wrote: I can’t stop crying! This moved me so much I love the joy that was radiating from Johnny as the crowd cheered for her.
