Tony Dow, who played wise older brother Wally Cleaver on the popular 1950s sitcom Leave it to the beaverHe passed away at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer. He left behind one child, his son Christopher Dow. Learn about it here.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved Tony this morning. Tony was a beautiful soul – kind, compassionate, funny and down to earth. It was really a pleasure to be around him. His gentle voice and down-to-earth style were instantly comforting and you can’t help but love him,” his management team wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post, on Tuesday, July 26.
“The world has lost a wonderful human being, but we are all richer in the memories he left us. From the warm memories of Wally Cleaver to those lucky memories of us getting to know him personally – thank you Tony. And thank you for the simpler time reflections, the laughter, the friendship and the feeling that you were a big brother to us all.”
