In 2019, Burke was a member of Harvey Weinstein’s legal team while trying to fight criminal charges in New York. He ended up in prison for 23 years.
When asked during an interview with an Israeli daily Ha’aretz On the high-profile accusations of women against powerful men, Burke said, “…we should not have a person with great power in the workplace, for example, abusing his power to be vulgar or to lay his hands on someone who is not interested, But it is important not to confuse this with rape. These acts are not rape. They are also not criminals.”
